Procedure to Change Magento 2 Admin Session Time

Picturize a situation in front of you, where in you have been working for last 20 minutes as a Magento 2 store admin, and all of a sudden you find out that you have been logged out by just pressing the save button.

To maintain security barriers, the default Magento 2 admin session time out is fixed to 900 seconds, i.e., 15 minutes. However, this creates such a kind of irritating moments.

If you want to reset the session time out according to your requirement, then follow the below mentioned steps.

Steps to Change Magento 2 Admin Session Time:

1. Login to admin panel
2. Go to Stores > Configuration
3. Select “Admin” under “Advanced”
4. Expand “Security“
5. Set Admin Session Lifetime (seconds)
6. Save
